Description
This was a horse drawn funeral in December in which I took part. I should add that I work for the undertaker so the loss was not personal.
My computer is going into hospital tomorrow so don't know when I will be posting again !!

What an interesting tickler....now I have more questions than will most likely ever get answered...certainly more than I should ask. :) A very nice photo of a solemn occassion.

All the best with your computer my friend. Amazing capture my friend. I will be away for a few days as well from 6 February to 11 February. I trust i will be able to share many captures of our boat cruise when i am back again. God bless.

why is it all our life we are suppose to stop for stop signs/lights, but as soon as someone dies. they are in a big hurry to put them in the sod. I like your capture. gives a sense of the town

I'm sorry for your loss. I know this might sound bad but, I wish I'd had documentation from my mother's service. It was such a blur of sorrow that I'm not even sure, other than immediate family, who else was present. It was a long time ago. Anyway, nicely captured.

Thank you for your much appreciated comment but this was no loss to me - as a retirement job I do pall bearing or handle the coffins for the undertaker, I also go out to collect the deceased from their places of death !!
Tisket
I don't know if I could do that myself. Not because of fear of the dead but because I'd fear dropping the coffin. I'm clumsy, lol. Glad there are people able and willing to do it though.

A fine shot that mixes elements of the old & new together very effectively. Good luck with your computer, Jeff - I hope you won't have to be attending a funeral for it...

What a beautiful shot, even though it is for a funeral. Love the house and the low stone fence :-) May your computer be well soon :-)

Must have been a very sad occasion for some... particularly the loved ones and family. On a positive note, a really great image of these horses, and the scene is very inspirational! Great clarity and colours!

Charming, but I bet the motorists baked up behing them don't appreciate them.

I think there's a lovely sort of gravity to this kind of procession; it's a lovely shot, too. Good luck with the computer stuff, it's such a worry when they need help!

Interesting image. I think I would like such a send off, though not to be buried.. that scares me more than death.

Nice shot , sad occasion.

Doesn't look like a very happy event, and I don't know why they must be so somber! At least if your computer doesn't survive the hospital you will be able to give it a proper last spin!

A wonderful scene. The drivers have to be patient .... but a horse-drawn carriage you can not see so often today ...... sweet!
sossy

A fantastic photo with the old horse drawn carriage next to that lovely old building! Best of luck with your computer - my crash destroyed the hard drive and I lost so many photos and converted slides. I was lax on backing things up to my external drives and paid the price!

This could be in a movie-film. I love this shot, my friend. A speedy recovery for your computer Jeff. :)
