(can't wait for the 1st one begging to STOP uploading any more stork pics or to kick me out, with storks n all... you won't believe how many stork pics are here. (which is not a threat! ;-D) LOL) Zeeland (subtitling:'sealand') is a province in the southwest of Holland. Capital is Middelburg. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeeland In Middelburg there are still some 'outside places' left. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buitenplaats (I would call it an estate??), among which is 'Toorenvliedt'. It was given that name by the man who bought the original place in 1690. http://www.geschiedeniszeeland.nl/tab_themas/themas/buitenplaatsen_walcheren/buitenplaats_walcheren/ (Actually there is a wellknown book in Holland, written by the last inhabitant of 'Toorenvliedt', that tells of 'Adriaan & Olivier''s adventures there). 'Toorenvliedt' is surrounded by a huge park with ponds, streams, bridges and more. In WWII the Germans built an entire commando post there. www.bunkerbehoud.com/projecten/toorenvliedt/inleiding-tvl.html (what was left of the once gorgeous park After WWII) http://en.tracesofwar.com/artikel/42266/Huize-Toorenvliedt.htm There are still bunkers left, recently restored. 'Vijvervreugd' House (sub: 'pond joy') at the other end of the park has vanished. The park, although lots of people don't even know of it's existence, it's well hidden, is popular among doggies & their people. and geese, ducks, coots and mooore...
