while out this morning getting the paper, I got this shot of the Japanese Maple

This is cool Mike - or perhaps I should say COLD, LOL. Reminds me of an ice storm we got a few years back that coated EVERYTHING. Though the ice can reek a lot of havoc at times, it can be really pretty too.

Looks all too familiar. We are in day 6 of ice cover here. Very little sun and low temps don't make for much melting.

"Iced Japanese Maple" sounds like a refreshing drink. I've heard of a 'hot mess' but never seen a 'cold mess'. Poor tree looks like its tangled up in itself. Nice capture.

With you it is really powerful frosty! Very beautiful winter pictures that I will betimes comment yet. This maple has to really suffer. Pretty icy! Terrific photo!
