Description

Another old one from the files. This is Barger, my son's dog in his younger days. He was a water dog for sure, somewhat unusual for pit bulls. Well, he was a cross, so there must'be been something else that gave him his water genes!! We lost him last April, at the age of 14. He lived a long life for sure.

Liking the water so much, maybe he had a bit of salmon in him! Seriously though, it's great that you have this nice photo of your friend.

Splendid shot of your late Barger, seemingly swimming a relay race as he frenetically churns through the water, Maz.

Funny as when you said pitbull I thought his head looks different :o) Perhaps he was Lab cross as they love water & I thought he was a Lab. Beautiful pic in amazing, lovely clear water. x

a wonderful capture of a dog swimming with a catch in his mouth. Dogs are so devoted, and they're able to do things that we humans would struggle to do. He's swimming, he's mostly immersed in water, and yet he holds onto a stick (or whatever it is) with total ease. He never drops it, and he shows no stress as he holds it. (It actually looks like a pipe---but then why would Barger fetch a pipe? For his new bathroom sink???) Really nice dog capture, doing what dogs do, and good detail too, considering you weren't right there on top of him. Fine work, Marilyn. Well, my server is going in and out, so I'll have to stop. If I keep going, my comments will be lost half the time. They're coming out today to fix this, but it's only 5:37 AM right now, so no one's fixing it at present. (I wanted to do another 5 or 6, but if I continue right now, my efforts will be lost.) I'll return soon, to comment on more. But as always, a very inventive, intuitive, exciting and truthful gallery. I know you don't do much photography these days, but your work remains very exciting, and it's always a pleasure to spend time here. Always completely fresh...

A super capture of Barger and 14 years was a good life for him!
