Description
(I created this last year and forgot to upload it. I've been on a year-long art hiatus but I'm now coming back. Trying to catch up my gallery here now.)
Creation Date: January 30, 2013
A sexy retro sci-fi siren explores an alien world in deep space filled with interesting flora and adorable fauna.
Notes: I gave this "SciFi Siren" idea a try back in January 2012 but it didn't turn out very well. It was a very boring scene, in my opinion, so I shelved it. Now I've gone back and started over from scratch to create a brand new scene with a similar yet slightly different theme. I like this new concept and scene, it has a lot going for it. I've also been meaning to use those little Snuffles creatures since I bought them in 2009 so it's great to finally utilize them. The character featured is my Yvonne with my latest and greatest set of body shaders. I tried to make the setting look like something you would see in an old Star Trek episode.
Technical Notes: The bodysuit materials are of my own creation to be highly reflective using "real" raytraced reflections. Most of the materials and textures seen in this scene were either created by me or heavily modified by me to fit this scene. I tried various light setups until I finally came up with this final IDL setup which I'm quite happy with. Postwork was relatively minimal. I created a depth of field effect using masks I rendered in Poser then layered in Photoshop and added the space-y sky in postwork as well using some free brushes. After that I just used several adjustment layers to adjust the color, contrast, etc to give it a vivid retro look.
