Description

A Mermaid's Song ... To hear a mermaid sing is a remarkable experience, it is a beautiful sound that haunts you. Mermaids love to sing usually at night, animals and fish all love to hear their magical voices, and will often join the mermaids to share that moment of happiness. One beautiful night under an orange sky beaneath the moonlight a mermaid sang and before long a wolf cub arrived to listen, then a golden fish shot out of the lake up an up toward the enchanting voice that beckoned him. The surprise of the fishes leap startled the wolf cub into singing along only his voice was more of a howl. Unbeknown to the others it was the first time the little cub had managed a howl so he felt quite proud of himself. For many years after that he always would remember the first time his howl was awakened, while listening to the most wonderful enchanting voice of a mermaid ... Hi Guys! - Many thanks for the fantastic support of my last image 'Born to be Wild', I was so pleased that many of you liked it, and again you made me feel much better with your comments, faves and views, you are great friends. All you see of the orignal model photo are the arms and the hair which I made more so. Although I love the beautiful humanoid faces of many mermaids in art, I just wanted to make mine a bit more fishy but try to retain some beauty. So her nose had to go, I made her mouth bigger, and her eyes also were replaced by painting larger more fish like eyes. To keep in with the fishy idea I painted gills on her neck. I changed the tail to fit in with the gold red colour scheme and added more of it to the models torso by doubling up on it and taking bits off to fit. There are just the gills left of the original photo of the fish, I painted the rest of it. I used as always my WacomIntuos3 Tablet and Pen for the painting and worked within PhotoshopCS4 extended. I hope my image brightens your day and allows you to enter a magical enchanted world for a moment or two.
