Wonderful capture of some truly sterling work. I purchased carvings of this quality in Indonesia in 1978. When I went back just nine years later most of the artists were selling much simpler work. When I asked they told me it took less time and the tourists liked their new work better than the old stuff.

I don't know if you can do it but I would prefer to see the cracking only in some parts but not all because the cracks go from one material to another where that would not happen, but the effect is very interesting. I guess if it could be 'selective' I'm thinking it would look much more dramatic. It is a really interesting shot to begin with!
