Description

The dismantling today of the Western Red Cedar in my road: We were all surprised with how little damage there is. It will still cost thousands, but at least the house is habitable. If you are as nosey as me it is worth seeing fullsize!

Indeed it could have been far worse, especially if the tree had been closer to the house, still annoying damage for the owners with the current rain we have been getting, they will need to make that watertight as soon as possible.. ideally before the rains arrive again. Looks as if it's damaged tiles, under felt, felt on the flat loft extension and guttering. Most important nobody was killed or injured... should be a clear insurance claim. Great collage of shots and it is a lovely house too... all the houses along there are lovely... you are lucky to live there... looks nice without being isolated.

Nature's wrath well represented in this interesting montage, Andrea. A slight taste of tornado damage in middle America.

Amazing capture Andrea, how remarkable that the damage was no worse and thank goodness nobody was injured. The storms here are horrendous and the weather forecasters predict more next week! hugs Jane xx

Glad no one was hurt; this is what worries me a bit in our house, we are surrounded by 8 or 9 200-ft Douglas firs and cedars, any of which could come down on our house (like the smaller two that came down on the powerlines across the street several weeks back). Guess I'll just have to keep praying that it doesn't happen!

I can imagine that there were some worried looks for a while. Now comes the infamous 'Blue Tarp' to protect the home until the repairs can be completed. Wonderful collage Andrea - and yes! I zoomed on the image!!!!

This was a big one. I knew there would be some damage. I hope they close or cover that hole before the next rain or they are going to have a swimming pool in the attic.

Wow, there was more damage than I thought, and yes, I am nosey too! That roof looks like it needed to be replaced anyway, so perhaps it is fortunate because the owners might get something from insurance if that was protected. Hope so!

They should ask the community for money to fix this damage, as it was them who didnt let people cut the tree. :-) Thanks for the great shots. They were lucky after all.
