Description

From the germ of a story that I am working on -- The terrorists, having achieved their purpose in destroying Armix Station and two crucial outposts, brought their stealth ship up to full power as their paymasters swarmed into the now-doomed Regus-Martin IV system, the way opened for them by the terrorists. Styx and her gang looked forward to jumping out of system just ahead of the massacre of an entire civilization......a genocide which they'd just gleefully precipitated. And then, an unpleasant annoyance......and an exceedingly awkward annoyance. A Regus-Martin Marine heavy armor transport suddenly appeared out of the spreading wreckage of what had been Armix Station, and clamped itself tightly to the belly of the advanced stealth ship, just as the terrorist vessel spun up to power to flee the chaos to follow. WHERE had the transport come from? The Regus-Martin Marine transport didn't fire on them -- it just came out of nowhere, and clamped itself directly to the hull of their ship, entangling the stealth ship's belly turret in the process, so that the terrorist crew couldn't fire on the irritating leech that had attached itself to their ship like an unsightly goiter suddenly appearing on an otherwise sleek body. The self-invited hitchhiker ran the risk of being an extreme embarrassment to the harsh-faced, tough members of the "greatest private commando service" (I.E. -- terrorists for hire) in the sector, if allowed to stand -- and it was an embarrassment which was likely to be noted all too soon by their paymasters. Not unlike a champion fighter clumsily getting knocked down by a child immediately after winning the heavyform championship title. Styx swore in highly colorful language, as did her Chief. How they possibly have missed him? Everything had been planned out so meticulously.......how could something like this have happened. Styx was going to kill somebody. Somebody besides the 3 billion+ souls that her actions had just condemned to death at the hands of their mortal enemies, that is -- Regardless: the Marine transport had to go. Thankfully, the Marine transport didn't appear to actually be carrying any Marines. If it had, then the best terrorists in the sector would already be dead........ Styx ordered all of her crew to the outside, in full combat armor, or at least in such vacuum-capable armor as they had. It was critical that they dislodge this unwelcome intruder.....and hopefully before the approaching fleets of the Red-Three Colony Knights noticed what was going on. The advanced stealth ship could fly itself to the jump point. Styx needed all hands to attack the problem of the Marine transport -- all fifteen of her small crew -- If not a company of Marines, then who was on board that transport!? Who had clamped the ugly, frog-like transport to her black-as-space-itself, beautiful pride of a ship?
