back when they were meant for off road use.
I have heard that this style is still sold in other parts of the world but not in the US because of the gas tank being under the passenger seat. I do not know if this one had it's tank relocated

oh boy, now that little sucker could handle some of the snow we've been having lately...gas tank under the seat, hmm, not too sure i'd like that :)
