Description
He is very unhappy because his mother wouldn't let him stay home on this cold winter day. Instead, she tightly wrapped this long scarf around his head, face, and neck - - - to a degree that he felt was only a small step short of strangulation! She then shoved him out the door saying, "Shape up, young man! Quit your grumbling and get your butt off to school!"

Nice work rich, I bet more than a few kids make that excuse... it's too cold!... then out comes the big scarf and off they go. lol
