My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

A beautiful trio of butterflies that really contrast very nicely against that very dark background. And the flowers complete the composition, of course. Wonderful shot...

I saw the title and was like, why? It's all rattlesnakes and scorpions. Cool butterflies.

Fabulous composition. Makes me excited and expectant about the arrival of our Painted Ladies from the continent. Some years there is a much bigger influx than others.

Such a happy picture, with a great impression of happiness, at least that's the feeling I get, when admiring these lovely butterflies and flowers. How is it possible you could forget to upload this very special one, dear Tara?

These look just like African monarchs... Are you sure you didn't cross the Atlantic without realising?

What a stunning capture, Tara! The lighting is just amazing - the butterflies seem to glow as if lighted from inside.

your silhouetting of the flowers against all that black is beautiful, Tara. Not the mere 'fact' that you did it, but how you did it. Beautifully massed, composed, seen, all of it. And the butterflies are all on the edges, which gives the flowers a kind of 'hug'. And your choice of black is perfect for the composition (whether the black was there, or you put it there---but even if it was there, you had to intensify it I assume, with your artist's eye) matches the deeper shadows in the butterflies and flowers themselves. Whenever an artist masses all of an image's subject into one corner, the rest of the image has to have presence, to balance. The stark, thick black does just that. Intuitive and beautiful, a beautiful image, Tara.
