Ok don't kill me: I'm doin' 3 uploads! You DON'T have to comment on all---just enjoy! The first? A guy jogging near home. (It's huge! Just warning you...) And thank you for your wonderful comments to my last image: You made me feel really positive about it, and I appreciated all that you said. You're the best, people! I'm very appreciative! Awesome shot. The bridge arches almost look like speed streaks like in a cartoon of Superman :-) Alot of action in this shot. So well seen and captured. Love that sepia tone and deep contrasts. :)))

OK, Mark, I like all the metal geometry, the light & shadow, the range of gray tones & the runner caught in mid stride, unposed & spontaneous. What I don't like is how close you cropped this to the top of his head & the bottom of his feet - it just makes it seem claustrophobic to me. Did you do it intentionally or is that just the way you snapped it & therefore had no choice? I have to be careful about making comments like this as some people are very sensitive - I'm going out on a limb & guessing that you will take it in the positive spirit in which it is offered...

Love the sepia tone, good choice here. The arcs and uprights of the bridge make a wonderful frame for this self-tortured creature, almost a parable about being caged by his commitment to fitness (he doesn't look happy; runners never do! I think they do it because it feels good when they stop...) I like it, it's a really excellent candid, my friend!

The Loneliness of the Cross Country Runner (1962 British movie). I like the repetitive geometry of the beams, posts and crossbars as they recede into the distance. Another one of your stellar shots with lots of depth. Although, try as I might, I've never been able to create a bonding with photosynthesis, I'm forced to agree with him in this case vis-a-vis the close cropping of the head and the feet within the image. It was probably something out of your control because he was approaching faster than you thought. I have that problem with action shots, especially when using a point and shoot camera.

Mark, this is a superb capture once again my friend. The clarity of the image is first rate, and his expression sums it all up. That determined look on his face is given strength here by the surrounding metal structure of the bridge. Of course it is hard not to have one's eyes drawn to his headset, and to wonder what exactly he is listening to.

Really nice composition here and I like his expression. Mine would be a grimace but I think he's enjoying his run. And I like the very long shadow behind him.

Your title cracked me up---knowing how my sister is about running, I think it comes with the territory---runners have attitude the rest of us will never understand. Me, I'll walk miles and miles, bike twice as far, but I DO NOT RUN---EVER!! lol----but, you did catch him so well and it's yet another rockin shot!!

Runners are so serious, and you've captured that perfectly. You've created a lot of tension in the shot with your crop, and it somehow accurately reflects the way I feel about people who do this! LOL! (Not only the head and feet thing, but the fact that he's got more space behind him than in front ... he seems to take up more room in the world than most people.) Excellent shot!

Well done. You've captured the look on his face. This takes me back to 1976-1979 when I was most religious about keeping fit while in the Army in Europe. Jogging is positively addicting. There is truly a runner's high (endorphins and all that stuff). If I missed more than a day, I'd feel that I was really missing something. When running five miles, the first two miles are the hardest...then the high kicks in and you actually feel free to run on forever. At least I did until I turned 40 or so...then my heart began to whisper in my ear.

Two strong structures in your image, yet so different ...one is human, the other not! ...But the runner is about to enter my keyboard..while the bridge is left behind. I see the intentionality of your capture and its conceptual meaning. I love the sepia tones and the geometric metal lines of the bridge. And the crop, gives dimension to the whole. It is a TERRIFIC capture, Mark.
