Great shot, I tried to find more info about the hood on the smoke stack which I have never seen before! Found the history of this magnificent machine on wiki at (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Fe_3759) The engine had traveled over 2,585,000 miles or about 5-1/2 round trips to the moon before retirement!

Nice capture. The sister for this locomotive [#3768] Is located at the Great Plains Transportation Museum in Wichita, Ks. If you notice, the smoke stack on this engine is very short. It was an expanding stack that could reach 3 feet approximately. In your honor, Richard, I will post a picture of #3768. JC
