I've noticed every so often a dark spot beneath the lamp. I discovered that the excess electrons were escaping and dripping to the floor. so I got this cup to catch them before they fall to the floor and I dump them outside when the cup is full. Have a great day ps all safety precautions are taken when moving the cup
