Vue8Frontier/Wings3D/Photoshop
I modelled a new cargo ship in Wings3D this afternoon,so I decided to give it a paintjob in Vue,and take it and a couple of other cargo ships for a test flight.Everything was going as planned when all of a sudden a group of enemy fighters swarmed from overhead and cut them down one by one...I guess I need to model some armaments for the ships,or at least an armed escort!. All ships created in Wings3D,ringed planet created in Vue,atmo is a custom creation. Fireball and smoke were originally metaclouds with respective materials applied,the additional detailing was done in Photoshop,as were the laserfire and signature.Thanks for viewing and any comments!

Wherever you post this image, I still think it's irresponsible of you to send these ships without appropriate armed cover...! And wherever you post it, the modelling is excellent. Great scene, Neil.

I like the vintage sci-fi feel of the image as well. Nice work on the cargo ships, too bad they didn't have an escort... I hope the pirates don't take them all out.

Lots to like in this one. I particularly like the Saturn-like planet and the clouds. The explosion is also an excellent rendering and realistic.
