Description

I did something new - for me anyway. This is an image composed almost totally in GIMP. When I saw Angie's (Rachel Marie) PNG sets it made me want to try it. I did V4 in Poser (Mihrelle's Aeryn texture on the base V4) against the gray background and exported the image to GIMP. Regina's Advent9 BG looked like a nice base so I brought it in as a layer and shoved it to the back. I figured out how to scale and move Angie's png's and went crazy. I even threw in a few butterfly brushes. I upped the brightness and contrast on the finished image and this is the result. Not too bad for an evening's work by an old goat. Interesting image with good handling of lighting and texturing, but somehow I'm not happy with the grass which looks all brown and withered. The sky also seems too gloomy. Maybe make the grass green and add some more vegetation around, say a few shrubs? ;)

Excellent T! Sounds like you are really branching out with your skills. Good stuff to know. Good job with this. Looking forward to seeing what else you come up with using layers. I've done this with photos too. It can be a lot of fun.
