Description

Yes! probably in the wrong gallery.....but this IS Old Warden Aerodrome, home of the Shuttleworth collection. The greatest collection of original and vintage aircraft but also these.......a great collection of vintage motors and motorcyles. I couldn't possibly name them all and to be absolutely honest I was more interested in the old tin plate signs and the garage set-up...Anyhow, hope there's something of interest even if there's a definite lack of wings.....

Interesting "These men use Shell" signs although perhaps a bit sexist.

Yes, but I think they saved their bacon with the one of 2 women and "these 'people' use shell....still very male orientated though...

Great image, with no people standing the way! Machines without wings are cool too!

Just think of them as ground planes. Excellent photo!

Couldn't you afford the entrance fee?? ... had to shoot through the letterbox... LOL...... A very neat line up.. the panorma effect works well and a great way to get the whole lot in. Agree the tin signs are cool.. I've always wanted a petrol pump for the man cave too.... That Hillman Minx is RAF colours is particularly cool, perfect for the weekend Wing Commander!!

Now i'd be in my element here The grey one looks like an early Morris 8, then a Morris Bullnose Oxford, the yellow one could be a Renault or Peugeot, the next 2 yellow ones looks like Austin's, the blue one like a Fiat Topolino, the RAF one a Hillman Minx as Martin points out, not sure about the one next to it but it also looks Austin in style.

Well...people refer to a speeding car as "flying down the highway".

If you throw them out of an C-130, I am sure, they do fly. OK, they fly only for a very short time and they fly like a brick and only once, but they fly... :-)

And, as per the aircraft most if not all the cars in the Shuttleworth Collection are runners as well... These being some of the 'older' ones, there are some VERY VERY old examples there as well.. I must get around to posting more lol Great place, great visit.. Airshow day next mate! Rob.
