Description

This fence is in Sweikhuizen, it has had its best days. I am always fascinated by wooden fences, or sometimes I see those special old iron gates, which are as true works of art, full of rust and fungus. Also when I see those crooked poles, I always think of the song: "don't fence me in". Thank you very much for your visite.

Your text Mies is a beautiful poetic vision of what happens to any complex human creation as it is, with brackets, bolts, wood quality ... just like the creator of this work, they end up eaten by the time ... the degradation of wood, change their textures, colors, these rusty weapons, changing colors, before falling on the ground ... that's the way of all things created by the hand of man!

That was a six-barred gate, which is very interesting as most of our old gates are five-barred. I wonder what the replacement gate looks like? This makes a great composition!

Looks like you have a 'gate crasher' trying to get in Jacomina !!! Super picture.

Wonderful photo. it is interesting that someone repaired or replaced the fence there and yet left this old treasure behind. :)

Not only fenced in - but also chained up ! - must be the work of a masochist ? LOL just no room for escape, whichever way you turn ;)) BB

This makes for such a nice picture. I like the angle of the gate, and the fact that it doesn't "go" where it's been left. There's no hole in the fence any more for it to cover, which takes it out of the category of "this needs to be fixed" and puts it in the category of "charming piece of history." Wonderful image!
