UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Great atmosphere! I will try this effect for myself - its a wonderfull inspiration!

Yes, Mark's high key renderings have created a following of imitators of his unique black and white style. Can you blame them? I'm even guilty of that myself. Anyway, terrific job, Bill, everything is so sharply delineated in this one. And, Happy Birthday, anahata.c/Mark!

I really like the dark area, center foreground. I was looking at this in a larger-than-life format, and saw that with no context. Do you see the left-facing creature? I believe it's wielding a sword, and perhaps wearing a scarf. Or perhaps a bicycle tire. :P This is SO well done. I love the result you got! A wonderful image for Mark's birthday. :)

This is a wonderful, graphic image, Bill - I love this! It reminds me of when I got hold of some litho film years ago... I had fun putting it under the enlarger, and seeing the images that resulted when it was developed.

Reading through the comments, I'd just gotten done reading Harry's wonderful comment (thank you Harry), when I came upon Tara's, and read about a creature with a sword and wearing a scarf and maybe a bicycle tire (!!!), and now I'm TOTALLY confused! Well with all due respect, I don't see a guy with sword, though I do see a thing, front center, who looks a bit like a horse with some snakes on it and maybe a major identity crisis---so I'll have to let that go. But Bill, this is photo-journalistic: In your highly etched black and white, it feels like a capture by a street photographer, which I know you are at times, and it's a pleasure to see you do this kind of work. The hard black and white with all that grain on the edges makes this perfect as a blues and jazz pic; and given that this is N.Orleans, that makes total sense. Fine perspective, moving back on an angle---ie, we're looking in---and you've let just the right details come to the fore. Ie, the pics with crowds or musicians, incl one in front of a trombone player: You picked all the right details to bring out. It feels relaxed and open, and crowded and intense---real New Orleans stuff. Really fine work, and thank you so much for doing it for me for my birthday, and for all the great support you've given me all this time, and making me feel so special. Thanks for this wonderful gift, I'm very grateful. (ps...ok I think I see the sword. But he's also carrying a machine-gun magazine---and skip the cheap jokes about subscriptions, layouts, etc---((magazines???))---and is having a bad hair day. I don't know. I can't find a sword, let's just leave it at that. There's no sword. None...)
