Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

A lovely rural scene Andrea.

Nice shot and a great crop.

I'll spare you the question about their faces and say that this is a lovely scene!

Wonderful, always a welcome sight to be able to capture horses like this, there is something relaxing and spiritual about it, add a little mist and a wonderful pose in the right setting and you have a winner... I like both shots. The roofs of the huts reminding us the sea is nearby and the people sitting on the bench are enjoying it even if sight out is restricted. Well done.

A very nice image here my friend we have a neighbor who went to Florida and left his horses in the field with no one to care for them 3 died and they took ten of them away from him which made all of us sick and pissed off at him.does he know what the word domesticated means well i guess he will now because they will not give his horses back to him which made all of us very happy they should have shot the creep.Sorry i had to get that off my chest lol i hate people that do not care for their animals.

I so agree, Brandy! These horses belong to the council and they and a small herd of cows are looked after by the Parks and Countryside team.

Ahhh they are still there then :) And will be for a long time, I recall these when we went there with you. As you know I lost all the pictures in a crash, I did get a rather fantastic shot of one of them on the Bailey bridge. Sad that lost them. Oh well, what a fantastic pic this is!!!

I miss not seeing a morning marine layer. This is beautiful. Horses in the mist ... what could be better? Both shots are superb.

A fine panorama that needs to be zoomed to be appreciated. Only then can one determine the huts in the background, the three entities sitting on the bench, and the fine detail of the horses, grazing grounds and general environs.

Wish I was there! Very nice!

I love that these horses can live here in freedom by the sea; what a beautiful scene and capture!

That is a great story about the horses and the Parks & Countryside team! I had to zoom to figure out the 3 men on the bench and to see the tops of the beach huts. I have the eye doctor in April and I'll need new glasses for sure!
