Best lens in my opinion. Want to learn effects of aperture on depth of field? Buy a fixed focal length f!.4. If you cannot swing that, get an F 1.8. I have learned more about photography from this one lens than all other combined. Sorry I have been away. Taking a needed break. I will slowly get back to galleries here. Be good and Happy Shooting!

couldn't agree more, i have the same relationship with my 85mm Nikon lens f1.8. A superb capture, sharp as a knife

I love working with my 50mm f1.4 Zeiss. It's not a good "walk-around" lens for travelling, but nothing else comes close when that's what I want to shoot. I love this picture of your cat ... a perfect use for that lovely lens!
