Description

Mother Nature has had her way on the beach over the years. At one time, this fence enclosed a pasture. That's gone, replaced by sand. There also used to be about a mile of dunes; those are also mostly gone, destroyed in a big winter storm a few years ago. But the thing about Ms. Nature is that she gives back in so many other ways, as long as you don't try and mess with her too much. We all know what can happen then!!

Oh my goodness!! I hope you are very careful walking here. This reminds me of an accident I had when I was 5 years old. I won't go into the gory details, but I imagine there are more of these rusty swords sticking up to stab the unwary. ..ok now rant over on to the great lighting and design of the image. Thanks for sharing the reminder of all that mother nature can do. :)

The fences on my beach are destined for the same state!

It washes in, it washes out...nothing is permanent! Beautiful capture!

OMG, like you said, it's a beach, but by the looks of those buggy tracks I could swear it was the surface of the moon, in this interesting photo, Maz. I can even see where the astronauts planted the flag at the upper left. I like your narrative, and I believe this is the third time you've used that title.

what I find so strange is how the sand will fill rooms of abandoned houses. recently I seen pictures of a former movie set left to fall to nature in the desert and the rooms had sand almost to the ceilings

I like the comments above, all of them. And I like your narrative too. On the surface, this is a swath of minimalist nature, with a fence post sticking up, and the striations and other "occurrences" that dot an abandoned beach. But from your words, we're witnessing the aftermath of a long series of events---and a beginning-point of a whole lot more to come. Another of your beach captures that have a lot of history and worlds in them, dark and moody, and with its own beauty. ANd lol, Harry---about using this title before: Maybe you have, I don't remember; but I do know that you often use great word plays, or song titles, or sayings, and they always fit the image...
