Description
All the land from the base of the hill that I am standing on to the distant hills was covered in a sea of water during the recent terrible floods. The houses that you see were also flooded and people were evacuated from them.
This pic was taken yesterday 27.03.14.
You might like to zoom. Have a good weekend.

lets hope now that the floods have receded that the governments pledge of 'whatever it takes', doesn't recede with it. I wont hold my breathe though.

good that the water is gone now although one can see some water stripes on the fields! wish that the flood will never return! the capture has a fantastic depth and a wonderful view over fields and rivers to the horizon! ;o)

Lovely scene Jeff and good to see that it has mostly gone.

A really lovely scene, with soft light and velvety greens. And I see the lambs are in... Wonderful shot!

Nice one Jeff, makes you wonder really what all the fuss was about, the water receded quickly really. I suppose the only heart ache is peoples houses. I do wonder why people buy a house that is built in a flood plain in the first place. or why developers built there. But there you go, who can figure people eh?

floods are a terrible thing and sometimes no matter what mankind does they will happen. so many people want to live along the banks of mighty rivers like the Mississippi. then when they are flooded they are crying for help. an area of Dallas that is in the flood stage of the Trinity river was flooded very bad about 20 years ago. the city forced the people to leave the area buying their land. then they destroyed the houses. maybe 50 years ago greedy developers sold the land to people and every since the floods almost covered the houses. then some places flood out of the so called "flood plains"

Unbelievable, what a great view, but still wet. What a difference anyway, luckily for the residents, as well as for this sweet little lambs. I hope it will stay warm and dry, what a disaster it must have been. The photo is sublime, there is so much to see, also the hills on the horizon. Thanks for sharing this image, Jeff. I now get a good impression of your country.
