Description

I took hyw 90 to Houston from lake Charles. I like the old back ways. I saw this church so I turn around and took some photos of it. My camera was not getting good shots as it was not on the right settings here. I left and later on I got the right settings but I did not wish to get the shots of the church anymore . I as a gas station at the time asking for directing as I was following a goolge map. lol. My gps did not want to take this way so I put it up. it just wish to take the fast way. I stop about 10 times asking for directions to get to where I wish in Houston. it ok. I saw places I never saw before and really no time limit to where I was going

We love the old back roads. When we left Louisiana we went east on 12, west on 10 toward New Orleans, then east on 11 out across the marsh, then on to 90 across southern Mississippi and Alabama, and now we're on Dauphin Island, Alabama. Aren't the back roads great? You get to see so much that you would have missed taking the freeway. I love this picture, and your settings give it a nicely artistic look without diminishing any of the details. Good stuff!

This church is beautiful. The portal with the bell tower contains some Spanish influences ... The stained glass windows are fantastic. As you see it, just the twisting path have prepared many surprises.

Whatever problems you had with your settings, you still gave us a very vivid capture---your reds and blues pop out here, and the white background and light blue of the road/driveway are perfect against all the intense reds and grays and browns, etc. It looks like a church that's bursting with life, in this capture; and the stained glass is beautiful, as well as the statue of Christ over the door---I assume that's Christ over the door: It stands out like a beacon. Very exciting capture, Jock, it gives real life to this beautiful old building.

This one is so neat in that it came out like a painting more than a photo. Like pencil or detailed water color. Outstanding.
