Description

Each city on the planet was now 100% self sufficient, and classified as it's own Nation. Within the cities, peace had been achieved, but between cities ...conflict still remained. Each city leader, knowing that human weakness may some day become a threat.... The Guardians were created to prevent invading forces from breaching the city's boundaries. They were constructed to be indestructible, with a limitless power source. Although built of heavy metal alloy, they are quick and agile and of superior intelligence and weaponry. Their programming, hardcoded and encrypted so that it could never be tampered with. Their main directive, to defend the city boundary only.. so that they may not be used as an invading force against other cities. :) I picked this Mech dragon Up at DAZ this weekend and decided to create a render with it. This thing is a real beauty! and as you can see renders nice, only thing I ran into was that it's not very poseable... but given it's eyecandy appeal.... I'm glad I bought it :) I created a new height map for bump node and a specularity map. I also added a raytraced reflection node ( which really did not do anything but add to render time ) this took about 9 hours to render at 2093 x 2960 133 dpi using IDL and SunLight by Vince bagna. Normally it would have rendered faster, but with raytraced reflections and some extra 4096x4096 maps + all the transparency on the tree leaves, and IDL calculations, and 133 dpi instead of 72 dpi it took a long time, lol This has a lot of post-work tricks to enhance color and lighting + FX + DOF. I'm really happy with how it turned out, I hope you'll enjoy it as well :) Thanks to all who have been viewing, rating, commenting & favoriting me & my art.

Thanks :) yeah it was worth it.... it's been really fun working on it. I might see if I can improve the movement issues I ran into, re-do the JP's and Rigging if I can figure it out :) It's a complex model so what I ran into is understandable :)

Fantastic image! You've really made him pop off the screen and the added touches of dust and glowing tail make it a stand-out piece.

Many thanks :) Yeah the eye and tail glow were the last thing I added and after seeing it, I knew it was finished :)

This would be better than a Doberman Pincer! Very dramatic and menacing pose on this "puppy". NICE!!!

LOL, they might occasionally need some oil, but you won't have to watch where you step in the yard :)

Jaw dropping work....Yes the rigging got complicated - You can turn the Limits Off if you don't mind some poke through....The design is gorgeous, but also very hard to rig.

Stunning work on this, in all aspects, from the more "artistic" to the more "technical." Great composition and render too. The light accents are also just the perfect touch. Gorgeous! :)
