Description

This is an illustration I created for our annual April Fool's Day joke. Every year we announce the release of some new, weird product. This year we decided that we would release milk chocolate dice and miniatures (the type used in miniatures and role playing games). I used existing cowboy (and cowboy zombie) characters from earlier work (you might recognize them from some recent illustrations I've posted). I exported the models from Daz Studio into Strata 3D CX7. There I composed and lit the scene. The poster texture was created in Photoshop from stock art (and based on previous projects). The text and the chocolate background were composited in PS. I actually spent a few days longer on this than I should have, tweaking the details (and using anti-matter shapes to create the bite marks). All in all, I'm relatively pleased with the way it turned out. Although if I had a few more days, I would have created a second image using meta balls to create some gooey "brain filling" to come out of the zombie's head.
