Description

Just a bit of playing around - inspired by my continuing adventures with those annoying internal asteroids I seem to be carrying around..... still.. I've been experiencing a resurgence of pain over the last few days. I had an X-ray Friday morning, and an appointment with the urologist that afternoon. Long story short, it looks like the shockwave treatment was not entirely successful. The stone or fragments have moved down in the uterer and stuck. I'll be having a surgical procedure next Thursday where they will go in physically and blast the stones with a laser. The fragments will be extracted. I'll also be carrying around a stent for a couple weeks. I know.... TMI.... Anyway, I'll try to keep up with commenting on your wonderful art, and will be working on the next T.N.A. page as I keep the pain somewhat under control with my meds. Hope everyone has a great weekend, and a great new week! Thanks so much for dropping by! Background photo courtesy of NASA. The USS Genoese was a freebie I picked up somewhere, but I don't remember where.. :-(

No worries there, Mike! They'll knock me out for the procedure (so they won't have to peel me off the ceiling), so I'll not be doing any photographic documentation... LOL!

Oh, I remember that one! That's where they shrunk the ship and crew down to microbial size, and injected it into a person's bloodstream..... This ought to be good - I can't wait to see this!

LOL @ Dan's comment. I was thinking the very same thing! Being a lifelong Trek fan I LOVE this! Very cool image, and depending on what time period you're referencing, the phaser beam may or may not be coming out of the correct location. :-) In episodes later than the pilot and perhaps a few after - the ports you used for the phaser were (I believe) photon torpedoes. Anyway, all nit-picking aside, this is really cool. The phaser beam came out awesome! I STILL can't do one that looks that good. Sorry to hear you haven't completely gotten your rocks ... err ... out. I sure hope all goes well with the surgery Rod.

Love the Trek thing, of course. And it's a great way to visualize your process! Hope all goes well, and that you're quickly on the mend. We'll take you out to dinner if you don't feel up to grillin'. No pressure ... you've had enough of that! I can't wait to see how a TNA page turns out with you on drugs. LOL!

Sorry to hear you got about the worst outcome possible. I understand that these stones are rated about the most excrutiating pain going. I have always believed that visualizing the cure and putting it in you mind, firmly that you will heal leads to positive outcomes. Keep this positive image thay you created in mind over the next few days and keep it with you as your last thoughts when they put you under. You will come out the other side of surgery much better for having done so. Trust me, I have done this and it works. I have also not done it and had very bad results. It is all about activating the mind body connection. If your mind believes that you will heal the body will react to that.

exciting scenario and props. I watched the old Star Trek where some aliens stole the brain of Spock this morning. of course the doctor was able to replace his brain after over powering the aliens. when Spock would not shut up, the doc said he should have never connected his voice nerves

That's a bugger Rod.... sorry to learn that phasers on stun didn't shift 'em completely, and that they need to amp up the wattage a bit, or chuck in a photon torpedo...... seems a bit drastic but Ranpha said it'd shift it ;o) That 'stuff' is sharper then glass, no wonder it is soo painful.... hope the procedure goes as smooth as....and a speedy recovery on order for ya!

Ow, my friend! Seems you got the short end of the stick on this whole kidney stone deal. I will keep you in my prayers that they are able to solve it with the procedure. I'm glad you are still keeping a bit of your humor about it from the image you made. I hope your pain is well controlled with the meds! hugs
