No-one knew where they came from, who they were or how they arrived. One morning thirteen thousand vast machines appeared over our oceans and seas. They started to draw up the waters and started pumping out toxins. highly concentrated mixtures of Methane, Ammonia and other, more exotic compounds. After two weeks they departed just as mysteriously as they came. But the damage had been done and the Earths ecosystem started its systematic collapse, leaving it unable to support life as we know it. Two main groups emerged. those who wanted to build refuges and those who wished to leave this dying world.
