Description

Captured 4/14/07, seven years ago, at beautiful Echo Park, near downtown Los Angeles, California. Original was shot at a low resolution of 640 x 480, so postwork was required to bring it up to Renderosity standards, but it's still not that sharp in ZOOM. Totziens.

You did a nice job on this fun capture, Harry. He sure seems to be concerned about you slipping up on him.

It makes my neck hurt to see the angle he's got his in...I don't know how they do it! And his eyes seem closed, but he clearly knows you're there. Not enough to open all the way, but enough that if you moved any closer he'd be in the water. I love ducks, they are, like all waterfowl, inherently funny. Nice work here, Harry!

Perfect caption: That's exactly what the duck looks like---like he's saying, "I may LOOK like I'm sleeping, but I got my eye on YOU, pal !" A fine capture of the way a duck gets all wound up in itself, and hides inside its feathers. And you've cropped it with perfect balance in proportion---the same space on either side of the bird, and its head just above the landline. (Well, the latter choice isn't from cropping, but rather from composition. Sorry!) I sympathize with the low resolution challenge: I have a number of such shots from my first camera, and I can't salvage them at all. You've done a fine job making the best of it, Harry; and I assume it was time-consuming. We can see the long details, the sweep of its feathers, the mass of the bird, etc---it's all there, despite the low resolution. Another fine bird shot from you. And lots of fun too.
