Description

I recently upgraded to a Canon EOS 6D - finally got around to shooting a few photos with it. This was earlier today, as thunderstorms rolled through the Kansas City area. The surgery (it was minor surgery) was successful, and they were able to remove the fragments of my kidney stone. I have to go back this week to have the stent removed that was placed during the surgery. Not looking forward to that, as I'll not be asleep... They tell me it's not bad, but somehow I don't find much comfort in that.... :-P At any rate, I'm gaining day by day, and feeling much better. Thanks so much for all the well wishes and sitemails! You are the best! I hope you will join me in sending well wishes and comfort to our friend rainastorm (Rose). She has been through so much. Hope everyone has a great week. I'm back to working on the next page in the T.N.A. story.

Glad to hear that things are going well for you. the stent removal does not sound pleasant at all. My thoughts and prayers for Rose and her family. my thoughts and prayers go out also for those families in Kansas City who lost loved ones in today's shooting. OH! BTW, Rod! Great shot! looks ominous

Yeah, the cretin that did the shooting yelled out "Heil Hitler" as he was taken away... Pathetic animal..

Glad to hear you are on the mend, and the gravel is finally out of the system!!.. stent removal??.. it is only a plumbing job, lol......very cool photo Rod... that sky is suitably angry..... is that straight off the film, or have you massaged it a bit in photoshop?

Pretty much straight from the camera - I did lighten the lower part with the houses a tiny bit, but the clouds are untouched.

yep, that's the kind of image quality you get with a full frame. Look at that detail in the clouds and right from the camera you say? Awesome. I'd love to move to a full frame but too pricey, have to give up a few thousand dollars in lens and the Nikon D600 is no better for me than the D7100 except for the frame size and so that means $3000 for the D800. Yike. No way. Plus, the extra wt, can barely hold the D7100 steady! That EOS 6 is an awesome camera, if I was starting over that is probably what I would go for too. Sweet. I was just about to write and ask how the last fix on the system went and glad to read it was successful.

Fabulous Photo! I love thunderstorms. They have so much energy and enliven all your senses. Dangerous, yes, but still awesome. Glad to know you are mending nicely. When they remove the stent, just grit your teeth and think of England. ;-P

Nice clouds! :P We're in Alma, Arkansas, and just survived a tornado warning. Scared me half to death. I do NOT like it here!

A 6D! Quite sure you will love it...25,600 ISO ain't half bad:) Raining, thundering, lighting here but the worst is past. Key learning point...when you check into an RV park, ask where the tornado shelter is! Scary when you don't have a basement.

Nice capture of the angry sky Rod, had one of those ones on Friday night, thunder and lightning.. Glad to hear that they got all the gravel from your system, the stent removal doesn't sound good hope all goes well.. My dad had 5 stents in for his heart at least they don't have to remove those..

Congratulations on the successful surgery. Those are omnious clouds. We had hail, thunderstorms and a 40 degree temp drop just down the road from you in Wichita.

My mate had one removed with just topical anaesthesia and he said it was fine, but they did offer to do it under full anaesthesia if he couldn't tolerate the topical. I hope all goes well. Great shot BTW.
