Oh my, I am really not a landscape photographer :( don't worry this trend will not last, unless I do a ton of research and get a lot better at it.

my guess is that you can be a landscape photographer once you master the light out there. The image as such is pretty good, but the foreground is too dark in my opinion, I miss just too much details on screen. The landscape photographer I frequently consult for references etc is www.ronterburg.com enjoy (and take some models with you :-) )

I think it's a lovely shot!!! I myself like to Photograph storm clouds. If you're moved to photograph sunsets, do it!!! I'd miss the gorgeous models that make great photo references for my learning how to draw, but you have to follow your heart when it comes to artwork...no matter what type of art it is!!!

Frankly, I think this is a brilliant lesson in composition. The sky takes 2/3 of the image, and the trees on the right are placed perfectly to balance the sky on the left. You've used the rule of thirds perfectly here. The foreground looks just fine to me - on my Viewsonic at least, it's not too dark. There is just enough detail to be interesting, but not subtract from the main subject, the lovely sunset. Even the contrail in the sky leads the eye into the scene. Brilliant. You are a very talented photographer and model!
