How did we ever survive without mobile phones, oh, that's right, we used to talk to other people. I'm curious, did you take the shot with your cell phone?

I use mine to communicate with my family and friends, read a book, play games, look up information on the internet, check the weather, listen to music, find a restaurant, and take pictures of strangers on the bus. How would it be different if they were all reading or doing a crossword puzzle? Only the tools have changed ... the activities are the same. And ... this is a GREAT shot!!

I am so primitive, I still only have a 'dumb' phone. Dosn't stop me from frequently being completely antisocial :-)

Cell phones & smartphones have definitely changed the way we interact with the world. Seems like the opposite of "be here now" to me. Granted that commuting daily on a subway can be boring & people will look for distractions, I also frequently see people at parks, beaches, etc. ignoring the people & the beauty around them & jabbering or texting away. They are physically in one place, but virtually in a completely different place...
