Bravo Yves ! Joli portrait!

Remarkable. Amazing how those few lines and bit of color that we accept as eye, nose, and lips transform the entire way the eye sees this image.

"Simple" - there is nothing simple about it - it is perfect!

Excellent as always, you say simple but in a contradicting way there is indeed a complexity from the simplicity of such work, there is around six parts making up this great piece of work some joined others isolated and it makes for a very enjoyable composition. If you took the eye, nostril and lips out of this piece you would have an abstract work, this proves the abstract world is indeed a big part of our lives and only when we are able to truly identify something can we deem it familiar and less abstract in the world we live... I'm a big advocate of the left/right brain hemisphere concepts of teaching people to draw and the approach of how this dictates how we approach such things... such as the books and teachings of Betty Edwards... drawing on the right side of the brain.

And now no lines at all. But we see the character and emotion. Superbly done!
