Iimmi, a student like Geo and a member of the crew, was thought to have fallen overboard and drowned. After listening to the sea Snake claimed he could still hear the boy's thoughts and insisted he was alive. After a sudden and unexpected attack from the first mate, Geo, Snake and Urson are thrown overboard. Geo comes to on the shore of the mysterious and deadly Aptor. He discovers two of the jewels they seek have been placed around his neck. While searching the beach for the others he finds an unconscious Iimmi now realizing he, like they, had been a victim of foul play at the hands of the first mate, but is unclear how Iimmi managed to remain alive after two weeks in the water.
