Description

Cleaning out my Nordegg folder I came across one more gem from the Cline River. There is no sense of scale here as all the features are utterly alien to most of us; this view could be anywhere from a few centimeters to meters or more. I really like the creepyness of this image. In places the ice has taken on an organic appearance... like some massive slime mold, or the leftovers of a giant snow slug. Neat to know that such mystical places exist, if only for a season at a time.

this is just about as creepy as it gets. great capture Roxy - somehow I am thinking of the 50's style Sci-Fi movies

Yep... creepy.. but I bet it looks lovely in spring with the thawing. Mother nature has so many surprises for us if we only look. Your've taken some great pictures and frankly that's why I finally decided to post a couple of my own.. even though I only have a little pocket camera. LOL Great work.... and thanks for your comments on mine. hugs xxx

You're right, there really is no way to judge the scale here. Great variations in abstract shapes & very appealing range of gray tones as well. Unique & excellent image...

The water suggests one scale but the ice formation appear smaller in scale – Great image!

really interesting shot, I love the visual confusion the forms make as eye and brain try to figure out if there is a giant or creature partly buried there

It does allow one's mind to run wild and imagine all kinds of things. A fun and well composed shot, Roxy! The B&W seems to give it even more of an alien feel.

Nice. You're right about the creepiness: It reminds me of Geiger's art with its creepy organic shapes.
