Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

That is so precious!

Those are very lucky dogs ... I think that some destitute people would really love that kind of treatment. (but you can keep that sort of weather - brrrrrrr, we had 26C today temp and 19C nighttime temp. - gorgeous Easter weather) "Mondo Cane" - (It's a dogs life) did you ever see that 1962 documentary/movie ? This came to my mind and reminded me somehow of that movie, but only in title ;)) BB

It's a dog's life!.. such a cute capture of them having a nice Easter holiday sleep... I would really like to be a dog living there. The weather was rather terrible yesterday and surprisingly cold.. today seems better but tomorrow is set to betray us once more. Great shot

I feel like that as well. Actually both me and my wife are not feeling so well at the moment. God bless.

Two great captures, Andrea!! :o)

Wet and cold? Nothing but fantasy words to me. It was sunny and warm at 93 degrees Fahrenheit in my patio today at noon. T-shirt and shorts weather. Anyway, nice to see the canine corps all bundled up and snoozing away in the comfort of your estate, A.

Ahhhhhhh ... I'm pretty sleepy myself, and this is making me long for bed. Perhaps I'll just snuggle in with your lot and have a little snooze! :)

Perfect day for a little shut-eye!

Perfect. The most cozy and comfortable times I've spent in bed were when I could hear the rain. What a wonderful image. This is home.

They look awfully happy about the whole situation, don't they? What sweet babies, I'd love to be nestled right in the middle of them all!

This is a great photo of Ralph and the FlickR version really catches Fritz in a very special pose!

Both shots are tremendous. I sent a few friends to this, along with your other ongoing 'dogs at rest' series: The best of their kind that I've seen anywhere. The layout here is first rate...they just flow into each other. And their faces are terrific. And those lonnnnng legs on the left---just the right end-lines for the piece. (It flows off the page...) The ultimate dog-sleeping shot: Nothing looks so at rest than dogs sleeping in cushy environs. Man do I love this shot...
