Description
This rose though showing signs of age and deteriation is still very beautiful I think. I think too much is placed on notions of perfection. Plus the rebel in me loves breaking the 'flower must be perfect' rule.

I think it depends on what you try to achieve. In this case the imperfections, at least for me, work perfectly well! That's a beautiful B&W-Image, mate, the textures and contrasts are awesome!

Mate, I've never looked at rules in photography. If you like it then it's right. I agree with Bodo that a beautiful B&W image. The Rose to me almost looks like paper which are the textures you've managed to bring out in your post work. Well done mate it's lovely.

love the B&W treatment, gives a very different perspective and trains the eye to look at other things besides colour — matches well with a Shakesperean sonnet on the ravages of time I think, but ravages bring a certain beauty too

FAB! I still have a bunch of roses given to me by a departing lodger at least 8 years ago. They have dried beautifully. I am inspired by you to take some pics.

Have to agree with kingof3d's comments. This looks like it's made out of cotton to me. It's a great image. Funny how when a shirt gets to be like this it becomes "vintage" rather than "past its best"! Everyday we get a little more vintage, in that case (well I do!!)

It may have signs of age but just look at that tight center and all of those petals!
