Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

You make me laugh. I love it that you are immortalizing your favorite shoes. I think it is a brilliant idea.

You might think that, but I couldn't possibly comment ! Hehe!

We all have to do it at some stage, visit the charity shop and give up a percentage of our items relating to a part of our lives we shall not be revisiting, when I moved I downsized by 50% and the local charity shop which is the RSPCA probably contained 60 percentage my items!, I know passing the shop I would see my items on the window. In hindsight a few things I now regret giving away but we have to take a deep breath and go with it or we end up drowning in a sea of hoarding and when you move you only then see how much stuff you have and how it weighs down one's shoulders to deal with it in a short space of time as opposed to years. Good pair of shoes there, I'm sure many a lady shopper will snap those up very quickly. I take it you are not the Imelda Marcos of the area you live?. :-)

Great shot and nice shoes! I can no longer afford this high heel... worn ligaments of the knee and ankle would do agonizing screams! ;)

Think of the fun you had wearing them! Can be a wrench pearting with some items..but you can always return to your gallery ...and remember.

Great capture and interesting commentary

Swell ambiance of contrast and lighting effects in this one. And, an awesome stiletto heel on this gorgeous winkle-picker, Andrea. You might hang onto it for your gala luncheons, cocktail parties, and visits to the theatre and curio shoppes.

WONDERFUL SHOES ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO GET RID OF THEM?
MrsRatbag
OOh, another pair that I like very much...in my youth!!
auntietk
Oh my. You DO have good taste in shoes, don't you? I love these. Mind you, I'd get rid of them too, but as long as I don't have to actually WEAR the things any more, I'm happy to look and enjoy. :)

If these are your tomboy shoes..........I can't wait to see the tarts!!!!!!!!!!!!!
beachzz
Oh man, those were the days, weren't they? These days, the highest heel I can wear is about an inch and it has to be well padded. Hot shoes for sure!!!

Helen Mirren has proven that age is no barrier to being sexy. I firmly believe that you can still be a tart in flats. Nice shoes btw. My feet hurt just looking at them.

Great line about the tomboy and tart, lol. And those are some nice shoes! I didn't know you wore patent leather! In men's shoes, that usually signals "formal" (ie, tuxedoes, dinner jackets, etc), athough some casual shoes do come in patent leather. These are very nice shoes, madame! And rather high too. You said in a later upload that you care for leather---good for you: Poor stuff gets neglected a lot, and it holds up better and looks better when cared for. (It was living skin after all...it pays honor to the creature from which it came.) This is a more straight-forward shot than your last heeled upload, and it again shows off the sweep and mystery. I do mean mystery, btw, because a high heel shoe has mystery, esp in closeup, as this is when zoomed. (Men's shoes have much less mystery.) Something about these in big "solo" that looks so classy. Someone will be happy to have these, I'll bet!

I would have broken my neck if I tried to walk in those. Thank God for sneakers!

Fantastic natural lighting on this piece! Well done!
