Description
Here is where I lack the eye I guess. I honestly do not know if piece of flower lower left is acceptable or not here. Almost cloned it out.
Any feedback will be appreciated and certainly taken on board!
Thank you!

If you like it, that is all that matters. Nice photo.

Gorgeous Fred. Nice use of focus and DOF mate!

Then you'd have to clone out the top bit as well, and let's face it Photoshop is the industry standard for editing, but even IT is no magical device, one step leaves an ugly legacy to make another step to make another step..... As mentioned above, if you like it, that is all that matters mate :)

Personally, I like the second flower. It gives your composition energy and interest. A single, center-stage flower is beautiful, but the composition can be static. One bloom is a formal portrait. Having the second one is a less formal presentation, which seems to fit your subject. Tulips are hardly formal! They're spring-timey, loose, colorful, fun, and relatively common. I like the more "friendly" composition of the second bloom. I've been looking at your photography for a lot of years, my friend, and you can't convince me you don't have "the eye." You certainly DO have a good eye! If you're not sure you LIKE it, browse the Photography gallery for plants/flowers, and see what catches your attention. Those who say you are the only one you need to please are correct, but if you don't have a good feel for what you prefer, you won't know if it's "good" or not. (I never liked pictures I took in the woods or on the road until I started shooting curves. Guess who I learned THAT from??) Okay ... that's all just for what it's worth, and you can do what pleases you. :)

Lovely and well shotted. Fantastic colors. I like very much.

I like your pic very much Fred and I would have left it as it is. I think the hint of another makes this pic perfect but then that is MY opinion.

I ditto Auntietk. I like the added interest of the extra color . It grounds the photo more for me. Although I would think the shot is very beautiful either way. I love the focus on this shot. Of course, I am really a point and shoot amateur compared to all of you more professional and or experienced artists. In an interesting side note about the "common" tulip, did you know that here in the Netherlands tulips were once exclusively for the wealthy. In those days they could pay hundreds of euros worth of the currency at the time for a single tulip bulb. In Amsterdam there is a small Tulip museum located not too far from the Anne Frank house. I found it to be worth a visit.

ii think the bottom left accentuates the main bloom beautifully

I like seeing more than one in a shot; depending on the arrangement of the flowers, of course, I often have more than one in a shot, and you can try focusing on one and having the others "bokeh" out for interest. This is marvelous, I love the sense that the light is coming from the bloom!

Lovely lighting on this beautiful tulip. I think that the flower, lower left, is not a problem nor distraction. Keep up the good work my friend!
