Description

This was inspired by one of my childhood fishing spots. It's on the River Tilt in Perthshire and we always called it Witch's Rock pool. According to legend any suspected witches were tied to a chair weighed down with stones and thrown into the pool. If they survived then they were tried as witches and burnt at the stake, and if they drowned.....well they were innocent and didn't have to get burned. The waterfall is a mix of 2d picture object for the top half and terrains for the bottom. Trees are Bryce tree lab apart from background which are Foleypro & Liteluvrs virtual forest. Thanks to Paul and Frank Allan for some of the mats, the rest are mine. Plants from 3dplants.com. The grass hanging over the rocks is actually an object for creating water splashes I downloaded ages ago (can't remember where, but I've a sneaky feeling it was from Peter Sharpe). I just inverted it and then applied a grassy texture. All Bryce - no post apart from signature in Photoshop. Thanks for looking and any comments....Brian

This is wonderful - I can almost smell the pine trees and the peat. Only one very, very minor niggle - those two plants in the foreground look identical - a bit more rotation on one, maybe? And perhaps they could be dropped down a bit - I use the same meshes myself, and find they look better a bit 'submerged' in the ground. It rally is a minor thing, though - I love the pic!

HIstory notwithstanding, this is one witch who would like to visit this spot! What a lovely place to go fishing, and what a great job you did to recapture it. The only thing missing is a child with a bamboo fishing pole and a handful of worms. Fabulous job!

Water falls aren't easy to make, but you did an excellent job. Maybe a little bit bigger, the image deserves it.
