Description
These images "Wolfsschanze" and "Eagle nest" both were banned in my Daz Gallery cause a member considered them offensive, related to mass murder and produce a "debate" about politics.
When I established that is a render test for an historical serious animation, not a propaganda issue
Hope your opinion about this, I would like know what the Community thinks. Just an opinion poll
Thanks

Great historical image !!

Good job on this. What's wrong with history or political debate. If every subject that referenced mass murder, history, and incited political debate, we'd have to ban anything about most governments including the good old usa and anything related to the military in any era! We need to be a little more tolerant I think. Anyway, very nice work on this.

Thanks for your opinion as an opinion poll

That seems to be the shot heard around the world these days " It offends me, and hurts my feelings". Artist should have the freedom to create Art the way they want. If you don't like it, change the chanel. So I guess we should get rid of the history books, and the history chanel and burn all movies made pre politicaly correct era. Great work by the way and would love to see your animation!

Thanks for your opinion. When we saw WW II footage is silent and just few-fast edited seconds. Do not exist (at least for the public) a full footage where we can see these people talking openly in the way they did it. The project is recreate a fictional but possible conversation between them talking about the ocupation of Poland, or ideological opposition, even jewish persecution but in an historical basis, imagining the way that may have ocurred. I´m testing uniforms, characters, scenery-locations, light. But finding that is still a tabu Try to recreate a real history character (good or bad) is a big responsibility, takes time an a hard work

Most of history is offensive to someone but that doesn't mean we forget it or pretend it didn't happen. You've done a marvelous job depicting these characters.

Thanks, History is a way to learn and grow

It is O.K. to show Christ being urinated on but not a picture of Hitler as he actually dressed? Political correctness with its victim mentality is the real obscenity.
erzebeth
Hey, pal. Thanks so much for your opinion !!. Please, lets be little more polite. The main purpose of History is LEARN to GROW. Is not a solution censor or hide the reality. The image here just show two people talking, no sex, no violence, no action, no fantasy, no super heroes, just talk... but the uniforms produce ideas and feelings. Face reality is symptom of maturity

I don't see a reason to censor it, even if it deals with a difficult subject. Rather well done
erzebeth
Yes, now I found is a difficult subject. In my country we can talk openly about this subject with no harm. I´m surprised to find this interesting reaction. Thanks

As a 31 year old german, i think it´s the most sad thing, that all you can remember of Germany is just the world war. We have much more other things where you can put the focus on. For nearly 70 years we talk about it again and again. It´s in the past, we sure have to bring it up ONCE in a year to memorize it. I don´t know what´s so interestig about HIM, it´s just getting more and more boring and let me tell you this: There are NOT MORE secrets about that man, everything we know was discussed on television: His family, his youth, his fantasies of a new world, his secret weapons..... Even on our television channels they can´t just stop bring it up again and again. There are other people (which are still alive) to put the focus on and they are not all famous! And in my opinion as it it´s banned in public in Germany to show flags and stuff about that, it should be banned in public generally, except history books and maybe some exhibitions.

Hi Ripley! "Believe it or not" I never said that WW II is the only thing that I can remember of Germany. Germany "have much more other things where you can put the focus on", and I know that cause I have many very good and important german friends for many years. I´m journalist and tv producer, had my own tv show about... History!!. This is part of a project to recreate on 3d Historical characters and have a long list: Gandhi, Stalin, Kennedy, etc. I just started by Hitler and I have not said " There are NOT MORE secrets about that man" because I´m not going to talk about secrets, I´m going to talk about a human being. Time ago I had a very interesting interview in Los Angeles with Bernd Eichinger, producer of the movie "Der Untergang" (Downfall), and told me that all the production team and himself are really proud of that movie for two reasons: 1.- Is part of their own History and germans have the right to talk freely about their own History 2.- The movie show a man, a group, and his-their personal crisis like humans, just that Is a shame that "it it´s banned in public in Germany to show flags and stuff about that", Please come to America, we can talk freely about that, I can invite you a good german beer and have a nice conversation. I´m high school teacher and sometimes my students talk about because have doubts or misinformation, is my duty as teacher as journalist, show the truth and let the people their own decisions. I don´t think that is a good idea "should be banned in public generally, except history books and maybe some exhibitions" because ignore the History leads you to repeat the same mistakes. But the best of this is that Hitler is an unexpected way to make new friends, or not my friend Thanks for your opinion

I agree with Steelrazer, we learn so much through debate and I'm not sure about banning things that are a part of recent history. They happened and the world has to face up to these things not just not just ignore them in the hope they will go away. As you said then we run the risk of history repeating itself. A very accurate likeness and well rendered.

Ignoring historical atrocities or avoiding them, even if it offends some, causes a greater injustice ... forgetfulness. If younger generations don't see and hear about certain aspects of history because people avoid them to keep from offending others, then they won't learn from history and risk repeating it. Censorship has its own risks ... like leading to dictatorships.
