Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper!
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

A lovely perk little chap. I had to change to Windows 7 a couple of weeks ago and I am still finding my way around. I lost my photoshop too.

This is a great capture! it is a big transition to go from XP to either 7 (which I think rocks the world) or 8.1 which I have doubts on

Best of luck with your PC process! I hate learning a new system and getting my software reinstalled. I like the green robin. :)

... so beautiful done Andrea and you will handle the new pc soon!

A green robin? The only other one I can think of that was green had the last name of Hood. Otherwise, capital color, lighting effects and quasi silhouetting in this one. Good luck with the computer conversion. As for Windows XP, another reason I use a Macintosh.

I'm still running XP on the laptop and will keep using it till my son says dump it or the laptop dies , I've beefed up the malware program though. Nice Robin shot.

I like the green background to this shot, really interesting with the robin's red breast. By the way if your new PC has Windows 8 or 8.1 installed and you miss the traditional windows environment... go to the official site and download and install Classic Shell, for many people including me with my recent new laptop had 8 and I went 8.1 which is a little better but still not enough... Classic Shell gives you a proper start icon again that doesn't just return to those coloured panes but provides a complete Windows 7 experience once more... or classic format.

I like the green wash over the robin and background. Did you go to Windows 8.1?
