Description
The conceptualization phase of this was.... odd. I long ago gave up a creative process that said "Start with idea X and keep working until you achieve it." In this case, I started with a dragonfly winged faerie with the notion of a dragon companion.... And I arrived here. In the end, I'm fairly happy. I considered going back to the scene to place background elements... things to make it look like these two are in a deep, dark cave... but I opted to leave it as it is.

Rendered to 1.5 kS/p
1 Mesh light + 1 Dragons Eye Light. This actually turned out really well simply by converting the dragon's eye material to a light, then dialing the intensity way back compared to the mesh light.
Just about every material has an insanely high gloss setting to give it that 'wet' feeling. I was really happy with how the dragon's horns took to it, though I'm not entirely sure the skin needed as much bump as it got. Still generally happy with it though :)

Fantastic image, simply put. The dark background brings everything forward and brings your focus on her beautifully glistening skin (cool effect), her calm, yet pensive gaze, and of course, the heated menace of the dragon. Yeah, please don't add anything to the background, this image is brilliant as is.

Outstanding scene render – I like the high contract and semi illustrative look. The textures are really great!!!
