My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I see oddles of turtles and it's great to see them in their native environment! And what an environment! How peaceful; a bit wet, but that's good for turtles, but bad for expensive shoes. The mood is fantastic, and the turtles are adorable. Apparently, it's good to give their undersides a good scratch ( it keeps them buffed). I have no idea why I mentioned that tidbit, but there you have it. I really love this shot.

Wonderful reflections, and even better with turtles! Very cool shot, Tara! I do see a couple of them, and I suspect there are several more hiding in there - that's a paradise for turtles. :-D

I see the turtles have positioned themselves safely away from annoying humans. A fine image with great reflections. It does look like a painting.

I love the ripply water and reflections. I do see some turtles, but I will have to study it again to find 5 or more. At any rate it is a great shot. Thanks for sharing.

That looks like the birthplace of reflections; incredibly lovely shot, and the turtles are like diamonds, icing on the cake!

I love this! Reflections can do so many things. These have a mystical quality, as if all the magic of the swamp has been painted onto the water. An aunt of mine, on a very verdant Louisiana day, exclaimed, "Look at all the greens!" With equal enthusiasm, I say, "Look at all the browns!" The reflections, various and softer than deep browns above. They edge toward gray, slip closer to red, or breath in some green. Whichever way they lean, the magic of the swamp is in them. The turtles show up as splashes of blue. The soft colors of the reflections are enhanced by the ripples which soften the lines. Everything is beautiful and magical in this excellent image!
