Description

HI friends. I just wanted to pop in and say hi. I have still things to do and I am not back yet. Just wanted to wish you a great week. This is another intuitive painting, I made the other days in bits and pieces in between other things I do. We still have marvellous weather and I will have guests three times this week. Next week I will have one of our grandkids for vacation. It will be so nice :) Will let the comment box open, but dont feel obliged to comment in this. I am not yet able to comment on your posts. FOrgive me for that.

I am so amazed at the things you can create in between other things. You really have an artists soul. :)

Helle, I am so glad you took time out to share this lovely and expressive painting with us. I've studied it for the longest time and plan on coming back later on to study it some more.

Whatever you call it ... intuitive painting is as good a description as any ... this is brilliant! I'm loving the style, with those colors and fantastic/fantasy-illustration characters. It's simple enough for a children's book on the surface, but complex enough to keep even the fussiest art critic busy for a week. Absolutely stunning!

I agree with the comments...and I love this drawing. (Or Drawing/painting.) I'm skipping, Helle, just to get a sampling of the last couple of months. It's not because I don't like the ones I'm skipping---you know that's not the case!!!---just that I want to get a sampling. I can see a kind of Godzilla here; but I can also see so many other 'play' things going on. Little tablet-thingies, (could be the 10 Commandments' kids), all kinds of squigglies, lots of areas with lines and dots and other ornamental things going on inside, tentacles, some wallpapers, buildings, a river, hearts, you name it. I love how you use these as patterns in an overall design, like a big whacked-out quilt, or a big piece of graffiti. There's also a jaw-like thing up there, and I think 2 eyes under a golfing hat! (Lol---did you ask for all this idiotic interpretation??? You should say, "interpretations NOT DESIRED!") The way you pile all these suggestive things on top of each other is pure intuition and pure play, and it just plain works. This kind of art depends, in the final analysis, on the pure intuition of the artist; and you show that in spades in these pieces. It's marvelous; and some day you should put all these play pieces into a collection---they're delightful! Even if Godzilla IS present. (The original Godzilla wasn't a lotta laughs, if I recall.) Hope you return to this style many times over, it's a festival.
