Description

Another shot taken at the Abbey Gardens, Malmesbury but I haven't a clue as to its name. It will probably zoom. - I have just zoomed it and you are in for a treat !!!

Looks like a form of wild geranium though with wildies the petals are usually veined. May be a mallow as Andrea points out. Could also be a variety of wild petunia. Hard to say mate, good catch though.

The buds and growth looks like anemones, but the central bits are different. I can't see any mallows that are that colour, and most of the geraniums I looked at had veiny petals, and not those central bits again. So sorry, I'm stumped too. I would have said blue hibiscus, but the centers are different again. Pretty, I wonder what it is? Great capture!

I think it might be: ABUTILON (VITIFOLIUM). From what I can see in your photo the leaves and buds plus the flower look like that might be it. It was fun searching for it. Thanks for the beautiful photo and the fun challenge. Maybe the next time you go to the garden you could ask the owners. :)
