Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

There we go! There she is! :) So nice to our lovely Tara! Purple is a lovely colour on her indeed! It definitely does look swampy out there! Tara wasn't joking when she said it was a nice day on a boat cruise around the swamps! :) Beautifully captured, Bill!

LOL - and here's the other side! :-D I love the way it looks like Tara's going about 100 mph with the wind in her hair - and she's completely engrossed in getting the shot! Looks like you two had a stellar day! Great shot, Bill!

Tell the truth now, did you two re-enact Cate and Leonardo's famous scene from Titanic standing on the prow with your arms spread and hair waving in the wind? Enquiring minds want to know ;D Tara looks great here, relaxed and happy doing what she loves...I'm jealous!!!

The artist at work. Great capture. I like your comparison with the hood ornament Bill!

A fine shot of Tara. Your hood ornament comment gave me an idea - a tiny hood ornament camera similar to the Go-Pros that mount on helmets, controlled remotely from inside the car. So that when you are taking a scenic drive, you can easily record it with a hoods-eye view. The only hitch would be coming up with an effective anti-theft device...

I'll be back for more, but this is 4 for today and a great place to end. I didn't comment on tara's similar portrait, so I'll comment on this. Yes, she does resemble a hood ornament, lol, and it's a terrific shot. It really does sweep from her shoulders and torso into her gaze and into her camera then into the river. And her hair flows right along with it. (I assume she's looking in the lcd screen---'cause if she's looking in the viewfinder, she has unbelievably good eyes!) Lotta motion here, and concentration too. Do you guys smile when you shoot? The picture of you looks like you're smiling too. (I never smile when I'm shooting. I figure other photographers will think, 'ok, that guy's an idiot'!) The smile makes it very warm. Lovely shot of tara, and of a photographer period. I really like the motion and sweep, and the way you've balanced it all. I don't know if I mentioned this to either of you (and you'll be happy if I didn't), but I was gonna take a shot of me in my bathroom, bent over and shooting into the wall. I mean camera right up against the wall. Kind of a bad joke on this series. With my hair blown back. But I couldn't set it up, as I only have one camera, and the mirror-thing would take hours...Anyway, lovely work. Real joy. I'll be back for more soon.
