My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

cool work Tara. glad you're safe Just saw RodS's video of the Quad chopper with you and Bill looking on. I noticed that you took some pictures of the intrepid Pilot. Will you be posting those soon?

I got a particularly great shot of Rod and the Phantom after it landed and he picked it up. It's on our blog: http://www.photoblog.com/bmac62

Very cool work. I must admit, your tornados are much more interesting than the real thing.

It can be a challenge coming through the middle of the US; glad you're getting closer to volcano and earthquake country, LOL! Although we've had a few tornadoes around here too lately. Weird weather everywhere. Wonderful craftsmanship on this mixed-media image, you're just full of surprises!

I like your interpretation of Tornado Alley Tara. I take it you made safely through it. By the way, Salinas hit 100+ the other day.

you walking with danger lol. cool image

Impressive image....you really created a feeling in this of escaping by the skin of your teeth. :)

I like to see you work on 2D pieces. This is one of your best. The scenes from the heartland, the swirl of a funnel cloud, the lighting flashes...all beneath an angry sky... You've captured a feeling and created a tension, all true to what it feels like to be too close to one of these threatening storms. Bravo...a fine result!

The weekend before the tornadoes hit in Arkansas, Hugh took his mother back home, driving through that general area. Good timing on his part. I'm glad y'all made it through with no incident. Many years ago, my parents were in Oklahoma and saw multiple tornadoes at the same time (3 I think), fortunately not very close. I have never seen a tornado and I will be quite happy never to see one. Marvelous image! It conveys both the wide open nature of the plains and the dark oppressive nature of monster storms. In the long road, the farmhouses, and the far horizon is the peace that has gone into darkness, danger, and fear. Very cool work!

Bill and Lucinda know the feeling. And they got your image on the head. (So did others, but those two know the feel of tornadoes approaching.) I've seen a few---in the distance---and they are primal beasts. The ones around here get pea green, look muddy-angry, it can be calm as all getout where you're standing---the eeriest calm imaginable---while a little ways down, the tornado is creating deadly gusts. It's such a contrast between uncanny stillness and devastation, you feel you're in a fairy tale. Which is what you've created here. This is a folk-mythic vision of the storm, with the tornado as a beautiful cellular growth, with lightning circling around it in a big dance, with the rolling fields of the Midwest, and with parched browns in the background, a beautiful barn crosshatched by the storm, and trees that are filled with electrical currents---or else just green clouds (they could be either). And one lonnnnng road that connects it all, so typical of the midwest. Also, the gold in the tornado is picked up in the divider line in the road. (Nice!!!) It's a folklorist's vision, the kind of visions Chagall did of his home town, and it's magical and menacing. Glad you escaped it too, but glad you did this before you left. With bill, it's great when you work on 2D. This is beautifully done.

WOW, this is amazing, Tara. The mood is such intriguing, and I love your albums, it's really a treat to overlook what you have made, formidable work, as art!!!!!
