Description

What a wonderful thing freedom of speech is!, but something we seem to take for granted. Concepts of freedom of speech can be found in early human rights documents. Englands Bill of Rights 1689 granted 'freedom of speech in Parliament' and is still in effect. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, adopted during the French Revolution in 1789, specifically affirmed freedom of speech as an inalienable right. Freedom of speech and expression has a long history that predates modern international human rights instruments. It is thought that ancient Athens democratic ideology of free speech may have emerged in the late 6th or early 5th century BC. Two of the most cherished values of the Roman Republic were freedom of religion and freedom of speech. ZooooMage Rec. Have a nice day.

Here in the Colonies we value free speech so much that our Supreme Court has determined that money is free speech. They are currently considering whether lying can be considered free speech. If a little is good then too much must be better, right? This is an excellent image. It really tells a story. I'm just guessing but green for Islam. Pictures of innocents killed by the authorities. And that one guy who looks like he just stepped in something aromatic. Nice catch.

very well imagined in this photo inmy country there is a discussion about : all are free to speak, but it isn't necessary to say all that you think. this is because we have one idiotic parlemnts-member (Wilders) who i.m.h.o. says way more than is OK

A fine candid shot. Speech, though, like all rights, is subject to certain limitations imposed by societies (even democratic ones) & they vary from country to country. For an interesting comparison, google "freedom of speech by country" & check out the Wikipedia article...

An excellent shot. It's good to have freedom of speech. Unfortunately, the politician's mostly do not listen to it.
